Freedom Is Not Free

Currently I am sitting in a Starbucks in Hillsboro, TX sipping a Tazo Tea Chai Latte and getting free Internet while my wife shops at the Outlet Mall next door. Wonder how many folks in Marxist/Communist countries can:
  1. Travel to another city without restrictions
  2. Have the freedom to post blogs without government intervention
  3. Enjoy the wealth of Starbucks outlets we have with comfort and convenience
  4. Attend a fun wedding like we did last night without fear
  5. Pray as we did last night at the wedding in the name of Jesus without retribution or censorship
Man, I love democracy and capitalism and the life here in America they provide us.

So, that begs the question for Marxists (and any others opposed to democracy and/or capitalism), "Just how would your system of government and economic system improve upon our situation as Americans?" Any takers? The definitive answer is that these other systems of government and economy CANNOT improve what our founding fathers set up. They were one smart bunch of dudes.

Now, that is not to say that improvements in our governmental and economic systems are not needed. Indeed they are. However, a complete change of the basic systems is not warranted. What is wrong with these people who want to "fundamentally transform" America? Well, that is an easy one. They want all the power now residing with the people of this country consolidated into their hands.

There is an old saying about human nature that is at work here and in the Obama
White House. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely". I don't know who said it but it is as true as the day is long. A person in charge without accountability will become corrupted. No one is exempt from this rule of human nature. We have seen it play out in history time after time. This is why there is no transparency at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. They are all corrupt already and just want to consolidate their power.

No one can argue that accountability is almost non-existent in Washington. We need representatives who believe they are serving the people who elected them. Way too many members of Congress believe that they are smarter than their constituents and that they are somehow entitled to their position of power. They forget that the power is on loan from us, the American people. We need to retain that power or we will end up with a Dictatorship or some form of a Communist government.

Now, I'm trying to be fair here because people like Sam Johnson (my Congressman) are the exception to the rule instead of being the rule. Sam is a true American hero and listens to his constituency. He is humble, fair and honest. How many are there in Congress like Sam? I don't know but it is obviously not enough. If there were, they would be calling arrogant prima donas like Speaker Pelosi on the carpet when they call Americans Nazis or brown-shirts. Shame on her. She should have been censured by the entire House in a non-partisan vote with no dissenters. I won't hold my breath for that one.

So what is Mr. Hope and Change offering us any way? Hope for what? Hope we won't notice as he pulls a fast one on us? We've already seen the "Change" our President and his associates want. They want to "fundamentally transform" America. Into what? It's got to have something with Marxism. I mean either our President is an idiot or he's perfectly aware of the ideologies of the people who are his close advisors. Ya think? He knows exactly who they are and whole-heartedly endorses their points of view because he shares them. We're not stupid Mr. Obama. We know a skunk when we see one in spite of how you want to convince us that we are looking at a rhino. Smell something yet? Yup, it stinks.

Anyone want to venture a guess as to why the President seems to not want to focus on the #1 problem that Americans are concerned about? It's the economy stupid! Jobs and the economy. DUH! Health care needs work, granted, but it is not at the top of our list. However, to fix the economy, you have to work within our capitalistic system. If you already believe it is fundamentally evil and unfair then and were planning on replacing it with a supposedly fairer economic system that will "redistribute the wealth" (oooh, can you say Marxist/communist here?) you NATURALLY would ignore the problem until you can get your changes in place. Allow the current system to collapse on it's own. Regulate it to death, take over businesses under the guise of "BAILOUTS" because some companies are just "too big" to be allowed to fail. Tax all those evil profits.

A friend wrote to me on Facebook recently and commented that, although he does not agree with everything I write in this blog he finds my musings mentally stimulating. I hope that is true of everyone who reads these blog entries. My intent here is to stimulate people to think about what is going on in Washington and how that is affecting our country.

I began this blog entry talking about freedoms. As the title says, our freedoms are not free. They have come at great price. Much American blood has been spilled to ensure them. We should value our freedoms more than gold. And there should be a vicious fight when someone attempts to deprive us of any of these freedoms.

Our government is intending to do just that, deprive us of our freedoms. Freedom of speech, freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness. If our economic system is ruined and then "transformed" into something other than capitalism, we will lose those freedoms. If our govenmental system is "transformed" into a Marxist regime, we will lose our freedoms. We have thrived for over 200 years BECAUSE of our democracy and capitalism. Today's technology and ease of lifestyle owes everything to these pillars of America. Do not allow a bunch of elitists in Washington to "fundamentally transform" us into Cuba or China or, God forbid, North Korea. Only democracy and capitalism in combination with each other will keep us free and prosperous. Yes, there is work to be done but cutting down the pillars of America can only do one thing, collapse our society.

Hence the need to replace the Marxists and seditionists in Washington with REAL Americans. And the 2010 election is an optimal time to do it. How will you help? Will you help? It won't happen without you being involved. Run for office, actively campaign, blog your fingers off. Do something, I beg of you.

Definitely, comment on this blog and/or be a follower. Encourage me. Criticize me. Tell me you get a thrill up your leg each time you read my blog. In other words, give me feedback. All comments welcome, positive or negative. But post your comments here for others to read. You too be intellectually stimulating to American.

Good night, America. God bless you with the sleep of those resting in His arms.
