I promised that I would reveal in this post the ultimate solution that would stop the abusive treatment of the American public by Washington.
Isn't this a great country to live in? You can get almost anything you want at the touch of a button or the click of a mouse. Sometimes, like when you purchase items online, you have to wait a little while for the final results of the mouse click but that is OK.
And that goes for peace and security too. They are just one punch, click or button push away in a voting booth. Just think, you can change the course of American history with just one vote. You can stop the abuse, lies and corruption in Washington with just one vote. You can restore sanity to our economy with just one vote. A single vote is the most powerful agent of change ever invented. Our entire government can be replaced overnight. Administrations can be toppled, corruption can be ended, free markets can be saved, income can be freely earned, life and liberty can be pursued. Wow, almost sounds too good to be true.
But it is true. Our Founding Fathers set it up to be true. Each American citizen holds within their hands the power to turn the rudder on this giant ship we call America. We can all assist in steering a new course for our nation. However, you must cast that vote in order for it to count and that requires getting out to the polls on election day or casting an early vote. Either way, you make your voice heard and exercise the power reserved for "We the People".
Sick of what is going on in Washington? Change it. Tired of being treated like "trailer park trash". Make it go away. By NOT voting for incumbent candidates in the upcoming November elections, we can make a clean start of things. Stories of corruption and in-fighting and partisan battles will cease immediately.
We need people of character in Washington. Take time this fall to investigate the candidates. Make your vote count for good by voting into office someone who will respect the American people and represent us faithfully.
I have always contended that ballots should contain a "None of the Above" option. If the "Nones" get the most votes, all candidates are eliminated and a new batch recruited and the election is held again. We should not have to vote for someone just because they are the lesser of several evils.
Are you a person of integrity? If you are, maybe you should consider running for Congress. You are just as qualified as the current batch of losers in there. And you'll probably do a much better job of listening to the American people about what they do and do not want. Some new blood should open up the old lines of communication.
Anyone can be corrupted by power. It is human nature to sell out to better yourself. We just need some people in Washington with some integrity. Who won't fold at the first 6-digit offer from a special interest group but will stand by their convictions when voting on legislation, We need people who are honest and bold and humble.
Constant exposure to the kind of temptations that are offered by special interest groups can eventually corrupt even the most staunch supporter of ethics. That is why I believe that no one should server more than two terms in Congress. We need to limit the exposure of our lawmakers to corrosive influences. This will also assure a fresh supply of new ideas on a periodic basis giving even more citizens an opportunity to serve our nation.
This November, exercise your right as an American. Vote and make a difference in history.

For Best Male Actor In A Leading Role, The Winner Is ...
Barack Hussein Obama! (Appropriate applause and high fives, camera pans audience but cannot find Mr. Obama) President Obama is on vacation in Hawaii and will not be able to accept this award tonight. Accepting for President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden. (VP Biden hops up to the stage on one leg because the other foot is in his mouth)
Well, it could happen that way. I think our president deserves a Best Actor Award for the performance he has given over the last year. I mean, come on, you must have been impressed by his ability to make you think he was sincere when he was lying to your face. Only great actors have the ability to sell what they are saying when they know it is Bull Shit. Bravo, Mr. President. Well done.
However, there is distinction here that probably disqualifies President Obama from the Academy Awards. Actors are paid to make us believe a fantasy. They say words that are not their own but must convince us that they are indeed the fruit of the character they are portraying. Pres O is not paid for that. He is paid to tell us the truth. I seriously doubt if he was elected to purposely lie to us. I don't remember that being part of his campaign. He promised Hope and Change not Lies and Corruption. Unfortunately, he has delivered the latter in his first year in office. And there is no "change" about the same old Lies and Corruption.
We expect our President to tell us the truth, So, why is he lying to us? He makes promises he cannot and will not keep or tells the American public things that he knows not to be true. In either case, he can be labeled a liar. I find it a stretch to believe that he believes what he is saying is true. Is Pres O that naive? Does he have such a Pollyanna complex that he believes that if he says certain things they will magically work out even when they are absurd? This is usually not indicative of a Harvard Law School grad. Is he smart or is he stupid? If he's stupid, that puts a whole new spin on things and he should be voted out of office. If he's smart, then he's lying through his teeth while smiling at the camera. If he's lying, he should be voted out of office. Either way, he should not be our President.
He is a convincing liar. He makes you want to believe him even when you know what he is saying is totally inaccurate or is a total fabrication. He sells opinion as fact. He tells us about statistics like jobs created or saved that cannot be backed up by facts. He knows when he's telling us that the information is bogus but he tells us any way. Maybe we'll believe him. Maybe not. The point is, most of the time he is lying to us and we know it.
People reach a point, when lied to enough, that they finally say "Enough is enough". At that point, they stop listening to the lies or believing the liar and withdraw their giving of the benefit of the doubt. I believe that is what has happened in America and why Pres O's support and approval ratings are in the tank. People are fed up with being lied to. The American public is not stupid.
Health Care is a perfect example. Pres O promised over and over again that you would be able to keep your doctor under the new plan. Surprise! Now he is claiming that "someone" (oooh, an unnamed, mysterious entity) has "snuck" a provision into the legislation that will NOT allow you to keep your doctor. Oooops! Well, who could this "someone" be. Must be the evil Republicans. No, they have not been included in the legislative process for the Health Care bill. Hmmm, that leaves only members of Pres O's own party, the Democrats. Ooooops, again. Who is their leader? Pres O. Wait, he said it was "someone" and he played the innocent victim having no idea how it got there. Could he be lying to us about that? Ya think! He's known all along that the provisions in the HC bill would not allow you to keep your doctor. Now that things are out in the open and people are able to read the bill, he's got to cover his butt. As long as he could keep things from the public eye, he could say anything he wanted and no one could verify the veracity of his statements. However, now that the bill has been made public it's time to do some damage control. Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Why does Washington treat us this way? We vote for these people (OK, I did NOT vote for Pres. O, just so we're clear on that point) to govern us, give them our trust and then they talk down to us and lie to our face about what they are doing. Aren't you sick of this? "Politics as usual" is killing our country. There is a solution to all of this and I'll address that in my next post.
I heard an interview on the radio today with Mike Huckabee. Gov Huck was talking about his interview with Michelle Obama and what a lovely and sincere person she is. Well, what kind of "lovely and sincere" woman can stand to be married to a man that lies to the American public constantly. I would think she would be constantly on vigil to make sure he wasn't lying to her. Or at least morally outraged at his actions. Funny, I have not heard any criticism of Pres O from Ms M. Do you think maybe she's in on it? DUH! Gov Huck better go back and rethink his comments in defense of the First Lady to her critics. Bad call Huck.
Now, I'm going to make you a promise which I will keep. Being a man of integrity, I will not lie to you. I will never purposely tell you something I know to be untrue (definition of a liar). I may be mistaken upon occasion. If I discover inaccuracies in my posts, I will be the first one to blog a correction and admit to my error. It really is not that hard to do. Living a life above board is much better than living one under the table. There are no lies so you never have to keep track of your lies to make sure they are consistent. To me that's too much work.
The promise: I will explain to you in my next post how to make all this lying in Washington go away.
See you next time, America. No lies. Ever.

What Do The Democrats And The Titanic Have In Common?
They both were believed to be unsinkable.
Well, the rats are jumping ship. Evan Bayh retires and so the exodus of politicians begins. Better to retire than to be soundly beaten in an election. Will we see more of these "retirements"? I think so.
So, the "shine" has rubbed off the savior. President Obama is losing face quickly among his own party. No one in the Democratic party seems to believe that the good ship "O" can keep them afloat in November. The smart ones will quietly go away. The less savvy ones will stay the course and get soundly thrashed come November. Nancy Pelosi's days as Speaker of the House are numbered. You can kiss Harry Reid goodbye as he has no chance at all for re-election.
Now this is real "hope" and "change". In fact, I hope there will be a big change in the makeup of the Senate and House. It is possible that President Obama will find himself in Bill Clinton's shoes circa 1994. Let's hope it's not anything to do with an intern but simply that he would now face a Congress controlled by the other party. For someone who seems adamant about not learning from the past, Pres O would do well to make a phone call soon to Hillary's hubby on exactly how to proceed after November. The Clinton playbook could prove helpful.
However, Pres O seems destined for failure because he will not use the lessons of the past to learn how to deal with the problems of today. He appears to think that he's smarter than anyone else in history and will somehow come up with a solution to further his progressive agenda that no one has ever considered before. After all, he is a Harvard man. It is not uncommon for professors to become so full of themselves that they cannot see the simple solutions presented by those that have faced identical situations in the past and doom themselves to failure because they will not heed the voices of their predecessors.
For example, people still insist that Marxism or Communism or Socialism is the answer to the woes of society. This has been proven a fallacy time and time again with the latest victim being the USSR. These forms of "big government" do not work in the long run whereas our form of government has shown veracity for over 200 years. Freedom is bread into us. It is the essence of the American Spirit. Valor, courage, charity and compassion are all character traits we admire as Americans. No matter your politics, Americans stand behind their young men and women in the military because they embody that which we hold dear.
Yes, we have some cleaning of our house to do. Yes, integrity does need to be restored to Washington. Those in power need to be people who believe in "We the people" as the ones they are serving. Men and women who, once elected, put their political party aside and work for the good of the American public without regard to re-election or special interests. People who have a disdain for corruption and who stand on principle. These are the type of members we need in both houses of Congress, Americans of a higher standard.
As I have said before, this is the opportunity of a lifetime. We can sweep out the decay with a single vote this November and replace it with fresh blood and devoted countrymen. Let's not just vote for a party this November, let's vote for the person who best represents the ideals of being an American. We have routed the progressives and they are beginning their retreat. Time for us to move in and seize control of what it rightfully ours. We, the people, need to reclaim our Republic.

Wisdom From The Past
One of the main reasons that people are so frustrated and angry with Washington right now is that those in power are not listening to the American people. Not a surprise to any of us. Our leaders would do well on this President's Day to stop and reflect on our past Presidents. And I don't mean the recent past either. I'm talking Founding Fathers here.
I'm not sure any other nation on earth has so well documented the founder's own thoughts on the country's most sacred documents. Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, et al left us a virtual treasury of their thinking on the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. It would behoove our leaders to learn why this country was founded in the first place. No one explains the plans to a structure better than the chief architects.
In order for us to remain as free as our Founding Fathers wanted us to be, we must constantly remind ourselves why they started this country. These men were inspired by God Almighty, Himself, in setting up our Constitution and Federal Republic form of government. None of this was frivolous or by accident. This country and our system of government were well thought out by intelligent men of the highest integrity infused with the Spirit of Righteousness.
For the sake of your children and your own knowledge, take time today to review some of the writings of our Founding Fathers. You will see that they did not create our Constitution to be a "living document" that should be evolved due to the changing social climate or intellectual thinking of the day. They created a bedrock for this country to stand on that would withstand the assault of time and the whims of man. These men dealt in absolute Truth as put forth by our God and it was in this spirit that the Constitution was written. And two centuries have proven them right.

The Man Who Would Be King
Before I get started, my apologies to my friends and relative who are Obama supporters (in particular my adorable niece). You are definitely NOT going to like this posting. It is unfortunate that you are enamored with a man who is such an accomplished liar.
"Hail, King Obama! Ruler of the Americas."
Do you like the sound of that? Well, you better think long and hard about whether or not you would like to be repeating that every day. "Not possible", you say? Well, let's see if I can convince you otherwise.
George Washington, in his farewell address (the man had the humility to just serve two terms as President when he could have been King of America) warned of leaders who would consolidate power in the Federal government. He basically warned that consolidated power leads to despotism (despotism is a form of government by a single authority, either an individual or tightly knit group, which rules with absolute political power. ...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Despotism)
Accountability prevents despotism from occurring. In America's case, accountability of the Federal government to the States and to the people.
Unaccountable leaders becoming despots is in our DNA as human beings. There is an old saying that "absolute power, corrupts absolutely" and it has been proven time and time again. A lack of accountability has taken down many, many leaders in our history. Leaders who started out as good people with honorable intentions but a lack of accountability led to corruption, greed and perversion. It is human nature for this to occur. We have both the capacity for good and for evil. Evil thrives in the darkness like a cockroach. Only the light of accountability keeps that side of us in check.
Ever wonder why the President has not kept his pledge of increased governmental transparency? Well, that would expose what is really going on in Washington to the scrutiny of the American public. If you are purposely doing things that you KNOW people are going to dislike, you keep those activities hidden and secret. Exposing them to observation by the common folk would, most likely, spark outrage. The last thing President Obama wants on his hands is an uprising of the American people. Ooops, too late. It's already happening.
President Obama says that if he had just explained the Health Care bill better, the American people would see how wonderful and helpful it is and we would agree with his position on it. That proclamation by the President demonstrates several things. First, he believes that he cannot be wrong. Second, he is unwilling to look honestly at an issue and have a real debate on it. Third, the American public cannot think for itself or recognize something for what it really is and must be lead to the truth through explanation (ala Bill Maher). The man's ego is his worst enemy.

Third, the American public cannot think for itself or recognize something for what it really is and must be lead to the truth through explanation (ala Bill Maher). The man's ego is his worst enemy.
Now you take a combination of a man:
- who believes he is always right
- who believes that there is no need for discussion on an issue that he has made his mind up on
- who believes the government can (and should) solve all of society's problems (Socialist/Marxist/Communist mentality)
- who fundamentally believes the common man is not nearly as smart as he is (Communist mentality)
- who hates capitalism and believes socialism is better
and you have all the ingredients of a despot in the making. Think Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Met any happy Venezuelan's lately? You might want to ask how it's going down there for them. Most of Chavez' people want to emigrate the the USA. Go figure.
Marxists, by definition, are power hungry people who want to control all aspects of life. They tell you that it is for the good of the collective but that is not true and they know it. It is impossible to name one nation with a Marxist ruler where the people are happy and free. In fact, you cannot name one where the average person in the country has it as good as the poor people in America. The same can be said for Communism. Marxist/Communist countries tend to have a small elite group (those in charge) that have all the goodies and privileges and everybody else wallows in mediocrity or poverty.
Marxist leaders do not like our system of government because it removes control from them. Pure and simple. What you cannot control, you cannot profit from. For a Marxist leader, allowing personal liberties is basically taking money from their pocket. This also makes the masses unpredictable. Marxism is all about control. Freedom (and a Federal Republic) is the enemy of a Marxist regime. Marxist leaders do not want the people to think as they may actually see Marxism for what it is and rebel. That is why our system is so beautiful. Accountability of our leaders and the voice of the American people being spoken at the ballot box keeps us free. Anyone who fundamentally wants to change that should fundamentally go live elsewhere.
Mr Obama is a self-described "Progressive". If you investigate the "progressive" agenda, you find that they desire more government intrusion into our lives because they want to control us. Their basic assumption is that people are incapable of deciding what is best for them and it is up to the government to tell them what is best. Well, no thanks, Mr. President. I am not giving up my freedoms so you can become King. As Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty or give me death." Walmart sporting goods, here I come to greet the defenders of liberty - Smith and Wesson.
Our forefathers knew what they were doing in setting up the "experiment" called America. And this grand "experiment" has persisted for over two hundred years. The founders of this nation warned that we would constantly have to ward off people who would limit our liberties and desire to become ruler over us. They understood human nature very well.
Our President has stated before that he feels that our Constitution is "fundamentally flawed." He goes on to say that the document describes what the government cannot do to us but does not spell out what the government "should" do for us. Here is where the philosophical difference between a true Marxist and the founders of this nation collide. Washington, Jefferson, et al believed that there were only a small number of things (like provide for the common defense) which the government should do for us as citizens. Otherwise, it was to stay out of our lives and let us pursue life, liberty and happiness as we see fit.
So, we as Americans should be highly suspicious and distrusting of Presidents, Cabinet members, Congressmen and others who would seek to impose a philosophy upon us which is clearly anti-American. Consolidating power in the government and "doing more for the people" is in direct opposition to what out Constitution lays out as the role of the Federal Government. Our President and those in power are attempting to take us down a road that ends in despotism. What America needs in her President is a leader, not a wanna-be dictator. Clearly, Mr. Obama is more one than the other.
Have I convinced you that our President definitely does not have your best interest in mind as he governs? It is this fact that drives me to preach on replacing all those in Congress in the 2010 elections. Scott Brown has caused the wave of discontent in America to crest. The wave will begin to break over Washington this November and the full force will hit in 2012 when we will replace our President with someone who wants to live in America and not some dictatorship.
We are the land of the free and the home of the brave. Are you brave enough to remain free? Then do something for the 2010 elections to make a difference. Run for office or help get someone elected who is a "real" American who loves this country and does not believe that the Constitution and Declaration of Independence are archaic documents that need to be reinterpreted in light of the 21st Century.
Our founding fathers were not only brilliant men, they were inspired by God Almighty Himself to bring this nation into being. Let us not disappoint either of them.
God bless us all.
