The Man Who Would Be King

Before I get started, my apologies to my friends and relative who are Obama supporters (in particular my adorable niece). You are definitely NOT going to like this posting. It is unfortunate that you are enamored with a man who is such an accomplished liar.

"Hail, King Obama! Ruler of the Americas."

Do you like the sound of that? Well, you better think long and hard about whether or not you would like to be repeating that every day. "Not possible", you say? Well, let's see if I can convince you otherwise.

George Washington, in his farewell address (the man had the humility to just serve two terms as President when he could have been King of America) warned of leaders who would consolidate power in the Federal government. He basically warned that consolidated power leads to despotism (despotism is a form of government by a single authority, either an individual or tightly knit group, which rules with absolute political power. ...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Despotism)

Accountability prevents despotism from occurring. In America's case, accountability of the Federal government to the States and to the people.

Unaccountable leaders becoming despots is in our DNA as human beings. There is an old saying that "absolute power, corrupts absolutely" and it has been proven time and time again. A lack of accountability has taken down many, many leaders in our history. Leaders who started out as good people with honorable intentions but a lack of accountability led to corruption, greed and perversion. It is human nature for this to occur. We have both the capacity for good and for evil. Evil thrives in the darkness like a cockroach. Only the light of accountability keeps that side of us in check.

Ever wonder why the President has not kept his pledge of increased governmental transparency? Well, that would expose what is really going on in Washington to the scrutiny of the American public. If you are purposely doing things that you KNOW people are going to dislike, you keep those activities hidden and secret. Exposing them to observation by the common folk would, most likely, spark outrage. The last thing President Obama wants on his hands is an uprising of the American people. Ooops, too late. It's already happening.

President Obama says that if he had just explained the Health Care bill better, the American people would see how wonderful and helpful it is and we would agree with his position on it. That proclamation by the President demonstrates several things. First, he believes that he cannot be wrong. Second, he is unwilling to look honestly at an issue and have a real debate on it. Third, the American public cannot think for itself or recognize something for what it really is and must be lead to the truth through explanation (ala Bill Maher). The man's ego is his worst enemy.

Now you take a combination of a man:
  1. who believes he is always right
  2. who believes that there is no need for discussion on an issue that he has made his mind up on
  3. who believes the government can (and should) solve all of society's problems (Socialist/Marxist/Communist mentality)
  4. who fundamentally believes the common man is not nearly as smart as he is (Communist mentality)
  5. who hates capitalism and believes socialism is better
and you have all the ingredients of a despot in the making. Think Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Met any happy Venezuelan's lately? You might want to ask how it's going down there for them. Most of Chavez' people want to emigrate the the USA. Go figure.

Marxists, by definition, are power hungry people who want to control all aspects of life. They tell you that it is for the good of the collective but that is not true and they know it. It is impossible to name one nation with a Marxist ruler where the people are happy and free. In fact, you cannot name one where the average person in the country has it as good as the poor people in America. The same can be said for Communism. Marxist/Communist countries tend to have a small elite group (those in charge) that have all the goodies and privileges and everybody else wallows in mediocrity or poverty.

Marxist leaders do not like our system of government because it removes control from them. Pure and simple. What you cannot control, you cannot profit from. For a Marxist leader, allowing personal liberties is basically taking money from their pocket. This also makes the masses unpredictable. Marxism is all about control. Freedom (and a Federal Republic) is the enemy of a Marxist regime. Marxist leaders do not want the people to think as they may actually see Marxism for what it is and rebel. That is why our system is so beautiful. Accountability of our leaders and the voice of the American people being spoken at the ballot box keeps us free. Anyone who fundamentally wants to change that should fundamentally go live elsewhere.

Mr Obama is a self-described "Progressive". If you investigate the "progressive" agenda, you find that they desire more government intrusion into our lives because they want to control us. Their basic assumption is that people are incapable of deciding what is best for them and it is up to the government to tell them what is best. Well, no thanks, Mr. President. I am not giving up my freedoms so you can become King. As Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty or give me death." Walmart sporting goods, here I come to greet the defenders of liberty - Smith and Wesson.

Our forefathers knew what they were doing in setting up the "experiment"  called America. And this grand "experiment" has persisted for over two hundred years. The founders of this nation warned that we would constantly have to ward off people who would limit our liberties and desire to become ruler over us. They understood human nature very well.

Our President has stated before that he feels that our Constitution is "fundamentally flawed." He goes on to say that the document describes what the government cannot do to us but does not spell out what the government "should" do for us. Here is where the philosophical difference between a true Marxist and the founders of this nation collide. Washington, Jefferson, et al believed that there were only a small number of things (like provide for the common defense) which the government should do for us as citizens. Otherwise, it was to stay out of our lives and let us pursue life, liberty and happiness as we see fit.

So, we as Americans should be highly suspicious and distrusting of Presidents, Cabinet members, Congressmen and others who would seek to impose a philosophy upon us which is clearly anti-American. Consolidating power in the government and "doing more for the people" is in direct opposition to what out Constitution lays out as the role of the Federal Government. Our President and those in power are attempting to take us down a road that ends in despotism. What America needs in her President is a leader, not a wanna-be dictator. Clearly, Mr. Obama is more one than the other.

Have I convinced you that our President definitely does not have your best interest in mind as he governs? It is this fact that drives me to preach on replacing all those in Congress in the 2010 elections. Scott Brown has caused the wave of discontent in America to crest. The wave will begin to break over Washington this November and the full force will hit in 2012 when we will replace our President with someone who wants to live in America and not some dictatorship.

We are the land of the free and the home of the brave. Are you brave enough to remain free? Then do something for the 2010 elections to make a difference. Run for office or help get someone elected who is a "real" American who loves this country and does not believe that the Constitution and Declaration of Independence are archaic documents that need to be reinterpreted in light of the 21st Century.

Our founding fathers were not only brilliant men, they were inspired by God Almighty Himself to bring this nation into being. Let us not disappoint either of them.

God bless us all.

    1. Very well said! I often wish that we could go back to a time when people lived a little more simply, when you could leave your doors unlocked at night, when you felt safe, when you felt that your President had your best interests at heart! It really upsets me when I hear people speaking so badly of Bush... He worked with what he was given (and at times may have made bad decisions) but he always seemed to try to put the people first and he didn't seem to come off cocky about it (at least to me). It really saddens me to see the direction that our country is going! I really hope that we are able to turn this around soon!!! Question.... Are you thinking of running?
