Life can be a bitch. Our president is sure finding that out. The number one priority of the American people: jobs and fixing the economy. The number one priority of our president: Health Care reform. Huh? Wait, doesn't he work for us?
Why the disconnect? I'll tell you why. President Obama cannot fix our economy because it would violate his sacred beliefs and principles (yes, he has them but they are quite different than yours or mine). Therefore, he will focus on something else and leave the economy alone.
What, you ask, is the sacred belief / principle that he holds so dear? It is that our capitalistic system of free enterprise is BAD. You see his dilemma? In order to fix our economic problems and create jobs, President Obama must stimulate business. How does he stimulate business to create jobs? By encouraging capitalism to work like it is supposed to. Ouch! How can you encourage a practice and economic system which you want to FAIL and believe is an obstruction to redistributing wealth?
Tough position to be in. Help your fellow Americans who voted for you by propping up an economic system you are trying to destroy or leave it alone to fail since you believe capitalism to be inherently evil? Hmmm ... I don't think this is a difficult decision. Oh, wait, that's right. He doesn't work for us, the American people. We just elected him. He doesn't owe us anything. Hey, he's entitled to his position as dictator, er, President.
See my point? President Obama cannot, and will not, EVER fix our economic problems. Certainly not when it will further his agenda of destroying capitalism in America. Once our economy fails he can declare capitalism a dismal failure and enlighten us with a better way, Communism (probably by some other name since this one carries so much negative baggage). He is so much smarter than the rest of us, you see. Including our Founding Fathers.
At that point, everyone will be required to ignore history and any present day examples of failed Marxism/Communism/Socialism operating in this world (think China, North Korea, Cuba, etc.). Never mind that Communism never worked for the USSR or that the country is now defunct. Do not be confused by the facts here. Just believe our President when he makes his pronunciation. Trust him.
That brings me to another point. I have finally figured out why, when President Obama speaks, he, as we say here in Texas, "makes my butt itch." When the man speaks he MAKES you want to believe him. I don't know how he does that but I can sense that as can everyone else can. Man, it is a strong urge to just sit back and believe everything that comes out of this mouth. Make me your mindless slave, Mr. President, please! Just tell me everything I need to know.
I unfortunately am a critically thinking human being. Damn that college education and parents that taught me to think for myself. Curse them all! I cannot allow someone to make me a mindless zombie without analyzing whether or not they are telling me the truth. Can no one save me from this madness?
Well, in my insanity, I begin to see the light. The wool that would be pulled over my eyes is lifted and I observe a man who would say whatever I want to hear, true or not, in order to influence me and gain my support.
This became clear to me when President Obama was interviewed in China recently by Major Garrett of Fox News. I listened to our president's responses. He phrased his answers to sound like what Fox News listeners wanted to hear. However, when you evaluated what he was really saying, you realized that he was lying through his teeth. He made statements that he does not believe to be true. He lied, unblinkingly, to Major and, hence via television, to the American public (most of which watch Fox News). I realized that we have a president that will say ANYTHING, true or not, if he thinks it is what the listening audience wants to hear. Liar, liar pants on fire!
America, believe NOTHING this man says. He so frequently mixes fact with fiction that I am sure not even he knows the difference. Truth is truth. Truth mixed with any amount of a lie is: A LIE! No ifs, ands or buts about it. Our president is a bonafide, calculated liar.
As we have seen over the past 11 months of his presidency, Mr. Obamas actions and words almost never line up. So, no matter what he says about WANTING to create jobs and fix the economy, you can take it to the bank that there will be no action to back that up.
The most current example of this is the TARP or stimulus package. In the name of transparency, http://www.recovery.gov was created to track where the money has gone and to document what jobs were saved/created by TARP money. What a debacle! Not only is the information on the site bogus but as a web site professional, I can tell you that recovery.gov is no $18M web site. Yes, $18M is what was paid to revamp the site. That is outrageous. I could have done the job for less than $5M, maybe even less than $2M. What a waste of money.
The kicker here is not just that the site has bogus information but when the contract for the site revamp was requested by one Congressman's office, they got a completely redacted contract. Yes, that means that all pertinent information on the contract was BLACKED OUT! Well, that's only done for national security reasons (or to hide something you don't want the American people to know about) and I'm pretty certain that there were no national security secrets in that contract. What a farce! I bet once, if ever, the actual contract is revealed, we will discover that all that money was paid to some Obama Chicago crony. More evidence, as Michelle Malkin has put it, of the culture of corruption surrounding President Obama.
So, we are stuck for the moment with a lying, corrupt politician for a president. This can be partially corrected in 2010 by voting out politicians who enable the president to be corrupt and replacing them with God-fearing Americans who love this country and our free enterprise system. The final correction can come in 2012 when we elect a president worthy of the office.
Do not be fooled, America, Health Care Reform is a diversion. Our real problem will never be dealt with because it would further perpetuate an economic system that our President has vowed to destroy. Unfortunately, for Mr. Obama, the free market system is recovering in spite of his doing nothing. His next move to stop the recovery, Cap and Trade and more taxes.
Good night, America. Sleep soundly because God is watching over this nation. He brought it into existence and will not allow it to be destroyed as long as we honor Him.

Should the Lord Tarry
Now, I'm a WYSIWYG kind of guy. What you see is what you get. I try to be as transparent as possible so people always know where they stand with me. No secrets, constantly honest (it's the best policy, you know). I'd make a HORRIBLE politician in Washington because I refuse to play those games. I won't lie to you but I also will not be brutal with the truth. Truth without love is very brutal.
I firmly hold to the belief that Jesus is coming back for the Christians. I loved the Left Behind series of books and read all of them. Scripture seems to indicate that it will happen and I'd like to believe that God will have mercy on His children prior to the 7 years of really bad luck for everyone else. However, can I state it as a fact? No. Am I dogmatic about it to the point of not listening to dissenting opinions? No.
Since that is true, I often think about what the future will be like for my grandchildren. Here they are just last night before going trick-or-treating.

Freedom in our country is based on two principles. One, that we are endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights. Two, that our government should protect these rights. The government should protect the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Not take it away. Marxism removes those rights and assigns them to the government. The government then has the right to your life, your liberty and your happiness. Not you. Just ask the people living under the working examples in our world today.
Marxism is an atheistic system. It DOES NOT and CANNOT promote freedom of religion. Under Marxism, God does not exist and therefore it is the government who grants you whatever rights you have. So, first I lose the right to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and secondly, I cannot pursue life, liberty and happiness unless the government tells me that I can. We move from what is best for the individual to what the government thinks is best for the collective.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that for the last 200+ years, all these "individuals" in our nation have done a pretty good job of taking care of those in need. The Red Cross and the Salvation Army are two shining examples. However, these life-saving organizations are falling on hard times due to a lack of donations by Americans. Why is that? The economy? Maybe. But I think I have a different perspective. If the government (and my taxes) are taking care of poor people and the underprivileged, why should I contribute to these organizations? That's double dipping and my income is limited as it is. Sound familiar? Hey, pretty much everybody's had that thought.
So, when the collective is taken care of by the government, we, as individual citizens tend to pull back from caring about the collective. However, if the government was not there, we as Americans would rise up and find a creative way to take care of the problem. Americans are not selfish, greedy people as "progressives" would have you think. The average American is quite compassionate towards his neighbor. However, if the government is already taking care of them, that leaves me nothing to do. So I don't do anything.
Therefore, the answer to Health Care, poverty and other issues affecting the poor and downtrodden is to let the American free system take care of it. Just like with Katrina and 9/11, we Americans rise to the occasion to help those in need. No government intervention required. American hearts are HUGE. And that also extends around the world. We are the most giving nation on earth.
I go back to the central theme of this blog of replacing everyone in Congress in 2010 again. If not for ourselves, let's do it to give our kids a chance. If not for our kids, let's do it for our grandchildren. Get involved. Help me out. Run for office. Pray. Contribute money. Do something.
I don't know about you, but I would rather call our leader Mr. President than Comrade or Supreme Commander. How about you?
Good night, America. May you sleep the innocent sleep of my grandchildren tonight.

Cute, huh?
At times like these, I think about what would this country be like for my grandchildren if Jesus does not come before they grow up. Sobering thought. I want to make sure that I have done everything now to make this nation one that they can prosper in and enjoy. Marxism does not give me a thrill up my leg on that issue. Our democracy and free market economy does. These are the things that have made America great. These are the things that will keep America great. I don't want a fundamentally transformed country. I want this one with some improvements. Marxism and communism are NOT improvements. Just ask the people living under Marxism and communism. Do the citizens of Cuba or Venezuela think they have a great place to live? Where do citizens of those countries flock to? Maybe the President's advisers (and Mr. O himself) should take a trip to one of these places or, better yet, Communist China. Hey, they may own us soon any way since they are buying up all our debt.Freedom in our country is based on two principles. One, that we are endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights.
